Gustinus Ambrosi
Austrian sculpture. When he was 7, he fell ill and as a result became deaf for the rest of his life. He was given a studio by edict of Emperor Franz Joseph, when he was only twenty years old. In addition to monuments, fountains and gravestone sculptures, his work was mostly devoted to portraits. He sculpted politicians, popes, industrialists, doctors and merchants, as well as contemporary artists, poets, philosophers and composers. Ambrosi created about 2300 works and was also active as a poet and a philosopher.
