Abraham Rattner

American painter. Born in Poughkeepsie, New York, he studied architecture before concentrating on painting.His style went through several changes, influenced by his avant-garde associates in Paris of the 1920’s and 1930’s, personal tragedies and the horrors of World War II.His later work is characterized by the use of strong colors, surrealist and expressionist style and religious themes.
