Isaac is about to be deposited on a burning altar by Abraham, who stands nearby with a knife. The hand of an angel reaches down, and a ram hangs from a small tree. The two servants wait on the left with the donkey. Above this version of the Bet Alpha mosaic hang the words of an enraged outcry.
