Leipzig Mahzor (Vollers 1102, f. 51v): Mordecai’s triumph and the hanging of Haman

Artist name: Unknown artist

Beneath the text of a Purim “piyut”, Haman leads the king’s horse on which Mordecai rides, wearing both a crown and a Jews’ hat. Behind Mordecai, Haman’s daughter throws out the contents of a chamber pot onto Haman. At the center, she lies dead after having jumped to her death. To the right of the “piyut”, Haman (at the top) and his ten sons hang on a tall tree.
