The baby Moses lies within a flaming furnace, having been hidden there by his mother Jochebed, fearing Pharaoh’s soldiers who are looking for a child who will usurp Pharaoh’s throne. In the lower left corner, Miriam laments over Moses’ fate, not knowing that the flames are actually Moses’ face shining.
